EPCC 46th Annual Student Art Exhibition

The 46th Annual Student Art Exhibition showcases the artwork from students at El Paso Community College. This annual event provides an opportunity for the El Paso community to witness the EPCC Art Students students’ talent, handwork, and dedication to their craft.

This Year’s juror was Las Cruces artist Amy Vensel. In her art she employs a system of invented rules to bridge elements of chance and control in her paintings, margining gestural, geometric, and process-based abstraction.  Her work has been shown across the United States and Europe,  with recent exhibitions at the Mark Rothko Art Center in Latvia, The US Embassy in Slovakia, and the Painting Center in New York. 

Amy Vensel selected 40 works of art submitted through a blind jury. The student work selected varies in medium, materials, and techniques, presenting the various creative and technical skills EPCC students learn in their studio courses while also enriching the dialogue around the contributions of art and the art department at El Paso Community College.

This year’s Student Art Exhibition Coordinator is Artist and Professor of Art at EPCC Adrian Aguirre, who teaches Painting and Art Appreciation and is a founding member of La Mecha Contemporary which is hosting this year’s Art Exhibition during the month of June. 

EPCC’s 46th Annual Student Juried Art Exhibit opened Thursday, May 25th, and will be on view until June 24th, Gallery Hours are Saturdays 12-5 pm.
